Last I checked, the HDs were over $100 each. That's $400 (if you're bad at math). Add the other bits you should replace when you put in new shocks, and you're adding a bit more to the cost. Then why not buy lowering springs since it'd be the absolute perfect time... Coilovers are overkill for the street, sure, but they aren't that out of line when you start comparing costs - especially of you're saying you plan to auto-x in the future.
